Positive: The location was perfect, it was not too far from the airport but far enough to feel secluded and peaceful. The Cocomar restaurant was amazing for lunch each day. Nothing felt too overcrowded while we were there. The little events they had going on throughout the day were nice such as bingo, Mexican dance night and the Super Bowl party on the beach. The wait staff was great around the pool area and a majority of the food at the restaurants were really good. The gym was nice and had a great view of the ocean.

Negative: We overall still had a great time but these are things I wish I would have known before booking. First, our room was so musty and damp from the minute we got there and the entire room could really use a deep clean. There was what looked to be stains on the headboard and lamps and overall just did not feel the cleanest. The hotel itself was pretty clean but just needs some updates done. The food situation was kind of frustrating for being all inclusive and on a vacation. If you want room service, expect it’ll take at least 1.5 hours no matter what time of day. If you want to eat at a restaurant then you need to make the reservation basically a day before to get the time slot and restaurant you want for the next evening. This was annoying to have to think about while on vacation like what time tomorrow do I want dinner and what type of food will I want. If you don’t make a reservation then you’ll be stuck eating at the buffet. The buffet was the only option for breakfast and all of the options were pretty much cold and just random. You couldn’t really just stop and grab a sandwich or snack anywhere which is why I think they had the 24/7 room service but who wants to wait 1.5 hours for limited options. Another issue was it says on the signs by the pool that you are not to reserve lounge chairs but yet every morning before towels are even available (8AM) almost every single seat in the pool area was “reserved” with someone’s towels or belongings but yet no one was at the pool. Most chairs stayed like that throughout the day too so what I’d tell you is take towels the night before to be able to claim your seats at the crack of dawn the next morning. Like I noted, we had a wonderful time and didn’t let these things ruin our vacation but just things I would have wanted to know and likely won’t re-book due to them.
