Summary: Three things we wish we had known before booking: 1. The hotel is not directly on the beach. The photos give the impression that it is, but it’s actually about a 150-metre walk away. Not a big issue in itself, but it does make you more inclined to leave the hotel when you want to eat or enjoy a bit more atmosphere. 2. There is no breakfast buffet, unlike most other places we’ve stayed. The prepaid breakfast consisted of a choice of five dishes, plus toast. We completely understand the idea of reducing food waste, especially with so few guests staying at the hotel. However, it felt more like a cost-cutting measure than a flexible breakfast concept. 3. The owner decided to host a pool party with extremely loud disco music right outside our room and most of the other guest rooms. The party continued until midnight, with the music and noise carrying on at a slightly lower level until 2 AM. This was certainly not what we expected from a family-friendly hotel. On the positive side: 1. The staff were genuinely lovely, friendly and helpful. They were especially attentive to the children and really made a difference to the overall atmosphere of the hotel. 2. The hotel refunded us for the night when we were unable to sleep because of the party. We appreciated that gesture.
