Positive: Accessible down an unsealed track, the property is located just off Highway 401 in Ban Bang Nao (Khao Sok Lake area). We booked accommodation while on the road and travelled that afternoon. The onsite caretaker was surprised when we arrived. As she only spoke Thai it took a while to access a room. After inspecting the timber bungalows that aligned with our booking we chose the newer motel-style rooms. These are quite large but only come with twin beads. Unfortunately, the toilet seat had what looked like dried urine, there was toothpaste-style residue in the hand basin and a piece of plastic (trash) on the floor behind the bathroom door. We were the only guests in the whole complex and decided it was sufficient for an overnight stop. In the morning we left just as the equipment of the cement works immediately neighbouring the property started to whir, clunk and bang.

Negative: After inspecting the eating options in town (nothing available at the hotel/motel) we found a great establishment offering really good E-san style food just 1 km away (ตำตำ แซ่บนัว 39/15 Khao Wong).
